: Prove the quotient rule for logarithms: $$\log_b \left(\frac{x}{y} \right)=\log_b{x}-\log_b{y}.$$
(Hint: See the book’s proof at the beginning of this section for the product rule. The the above picture won't help (unless you think it's funny).)
